WRITING for the VOID

"Full circle, he thought as the final lethargy crept into his limbs. Full circle. A new terror born in death, a new superstition entering the unassailable fortress of forever."

Chipping away at the first story I plan to post here. By the time I'm finished, it should come out to be about the length of a novella, but we'll see. It's a second draft I had started long ago of a story I had abandoned even longer before. It's a fucking mess. Although, as rough as it is, it's still very motivating to see just how much better the second draft is than the first. Makes me much more optimistic about the whole process.
Shit is slow, and it's still a long time coming, however. This story is one of two projects I'm working on, including a script for something that I may or may not share here. The truth is, when I first started this website, I was expecting to get maybe three visitors at most. Maybe more once I had something to show other than a few black boxes with an ungodly pink font plastered over them. Within days I had like, hundreds of visits. And then when I happened to follow a few people, some of them actually followed me back, a couple with some very encouraging words. It was hard to appreciate because I have never received this sort of attention on a website and was completely expecting to slip under the radar. It was nerve-racking. If you can't tell, I'm kind of a huge pussy.
Still, thanks to everyone who was curious enough to investigate my text-boxes. And especially the two cybernauts who offered their encouragement. I appreciate it immensely.
I'm currently reading I Am Legend. Very compelling, even if the prose is pretty rough sometimes. I also purchased Suttree by Cormac McCarthy, which is supposed to be one of his more personal and more mundanely disgusting books. I gotta stop buying these things. I have three separate stacks on my desk of shit I haven't read. Never enough hours in the day.
